Advantech unleashes the ARK-3420 Series

Advantech, the global leading ePlatform service provider, is pleased to announce the ARK-3420, a fanless industrial computer that supports Intel Core2 Duo processors, and has the Intel GME965 chipset built in.

Featuring powerful processing coupled with powerful display capability, plus PCI/PCIe expansion and dual SATA HDD support, the ARK-3420 is positioned to facilitate a wide range of applications, including image processing, surveillance, automatic optical inspection (AOI), flight information display systems (FIDS), kiosks, as well as automation and embedded control.

Flexible Expansion
For flexible expansion, the ARK-3420 offers five expansion slots selections: 1) 2 PCIs; 2) 2 PCIe x1; 3) 2 PCIe x4; 4) 1 PCI + 1 PCIe x1; 5) 1 PCI + 1 PCIe x4. There are six front-panel function keys, all programmable to perform management, upgrade, networking, maintenance, display, or reporting functions. The ARK-3420 accepts a wide range of DC power input: from 9 V to 34 V. It also supports up to two 2.5" SATA hard drives for ample storage.

All ARK-3420 electronics are protected in a ruggedly compact, sealed aluminum case that provides shock, vibration, and dust resistance, well-suited for harsh environment assignments. The case also provides EMI protection, and passive cooling as well, and fanless operation means quiet operation. With a footprint of only 220 mm x 102.5 mm x 200 mm (8.66" x 4.04" x 7.87"), it is suitable for space-limited applications, and fits in easily either as a stand-alone wall- or desk-mount unit, or it can be embedded within another housing.

Outstanding Graphics
The Intel GME965 chipset provides crisp graphics and a rich visual experience with Intel Clear Video Technology. The ARK-3420 offers 1 x DVI-I interface for dual displays, 6 x USB 2.0 ports, 2 x Giga LAN ports, audio function, 4 x COM ports and 2 PCI expansion slots; all packed into a small rugged unit and powered by an Intel Core2 Duo processor. It also has audio line-in, mic-in, and speaker out with a 2.2 W amp. For storage options, two 2.5" SATA HDDs (huge capacity!) and one CompactFlash card are supported.
