NHS Trust improves communications technology

Beyond Digital Systems has provided new technology to Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Surrey to help improve internal and external communications for the hospital. 

Frimley Park Hospital has invested in a digital information centre for patients to keep them up to date with hospital news, health messages and consultant information.

The digital signage and screens from Beyond Digital were introduced to as a cost effective measure to save funds on printing costs and to serve the hospitals patients and visitors better.

The 42-inch passive screens, which are Frimley Park Hospital branded, are used to provide information to all who enter the hospital.

An interactive touch screen has also been installed in the reception area which can act as a way finder map to guide visitors and patients around the hospital. It also includes a 'Meet the Consultants' pictorial option.

The screens also include a reduced sized screen set at level easy to reach for wheelchair users.

Dawn Bacon, Assistant Project Manager in Corporate Affairs, said: "We have thousands of people visiting the hospital every day and wanted to find a solution that made it easier for patients and visitors to find their way around as well as know about us as an organisation.
